How long will it take for my web site to be designed?

The timescale of a website design project is in most cases dictated by the client. In most cases we are waiting for information for the website pages from the client. If you have a deadline, then you will in most cases have the information ready for the website and we will endeavor to meet it for you. The most common delay in the creation and completion of a new website is waiting for content (text or images) to be sent to us by the client.

Will we need to meet face to face to build a website?

No. We have designed websites for people and companies in over 50 countries around the world to date from the UK to Australia and Bangkok to Dublin. We have not received an enquiry from a customer in Germany and had to jump on a plane to Berlin to discuss the website face to face with the customer.

Most communication is carried out via the Internet so in the majority of cases a meeting isn't necessary. When we design and work on your website we place it online in a private place where only yourselves and us can view the content. This is where you will see your website hence your reason to get a website and go online. We then liaise with you regularly to discuss the web designs in order that the website design and functionality is exactly as you wish.

Can you provide content for my website

In most cases we can provide images for your website and help and advise on the text content for your pages. However, this is your website, this is your company and these are the products and services that you are selling. So you will know what information better than anyone that you would like on your website pages.

What format should I supply words and images for my site?

We require any text and images from you for your website in electronic form. For example, the files the text in MS word or a similar format and images from a digital camera or images in general that you have in GIF or JPEG format. We do not work with any scanned images sent for example drawn on a piece of paper as the quality is to low to make your site look good. In most cases we will help to find suitable images for use on your website.

Will everyone see my web site the same?

Your website visitors will see some things differently depending on their browser, screen resolution setting and their individual computer settings and toolbars. We design sites with that in mind and preview them in several browser types and resolution settings before publishing. Obviously as technology alters then eventually all websites may need reevaluation.

Do you use Flash animation in your website design?

We prefer not to design sites with flash as they can be quite expensive to create and we like to be able to provide web design solutions at an affordable costs. However, should you require a flash website then we may be able to help. It is important to note that there are times when flash animations can be an asset but it would be unwise to use "flash" to create an entire website or even entire pages of your website as search engines are not able to read the content of flash and therefore any words used in animations will not be indexed by the search engines.

How many pages can I have on my web site?

As many as you like. From a search engines point a view - The more the better as the more pages you have the more chance you have of customers finding your website online.

What if I do not like the design?

If you do not like the design which we have suggested for you then we will change it. We would not like to think that you are not happy with the final website design so we work until you are happy and ready for the website launch.

A small web site with just a few static pages would cost less than a full ecommerce website with a large number of pages and a CMS system. Once you have paid the balance for your website this then belongs to you and is therefore your property. So you are free to move your website to another web hosting service at any time. You can download a copy of your website at any time via your web hosting control panel.

How do I update my website?

There are many different methods which can be used to update websites. The method you choose and the functionality we build into your website design is solely up to yourself although of course we will be glad to advise you which method will suit your needs.

If the website we have designed for you includes a Content Management System then you can access your administration areas from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection and make updates instantly as frequently as you wish. If your website is a smaller website and was designed without using this type of system and you don't have any html. skills, then we can update the website for you. Our charges are very reasonable.

Can I have an e-commerce system for my website?

Yes you can. An e-commerce website will naturally cost more than a basic information website as is more complex. But to have a e-commerce website you would need to be able to accept payment online via a third party payment provider such as PayPal, Worldpay, Protex or whichever third party you wish to use.

How can I accept credit cards on my website?

There are various methods availably to you. There are essentially two main methods of accepting credit cards. The first method is where you use your own pdq. card machine and process the card payment yourself which is very hard to get and the second method uses an online clearance company such as PayPal. Once you are sure which method you wish to use, we can design your website accordingly.

Will my website design be Search Engine Friendly?

All our websites are created with search engines in mind and the website design is compliant with search engine guidelines. It is a good idea for your website to be re-evaluated in time as over a period of time the search engines do alter their rules and algorithms and you will want to be certain that your website is kept up to date and complies with new rules etc.

Can you provide all our web design and hosting services?

Yes, we prefer to host websites we have created ourselves because we know our hosting services are reliable and that your website will function correctly on them. In most cases if there is a problem with your site that we designed but is not hosted with us then you may contact us to find out what is wrong but is not our problem because your site is not hosted with us and we are unable to help you. Therefore, it makes sense that you host with the same company who designed your site.

Do you guarantee that my site will always be available?

No web hosting service can guarantees 100% uptime. However we can say that our servers have had 100% up time for many years. Should our servers have any problems we do have the necessary backups in place to deal with this issue very speedily.
